I loved the first POTC and my favorite dress in the movie was the dress Elizabeth gets from Barbossa. We are going to have a costume party next year and I have decided that I am going to make this dress.
Pattern ideas:
For the main part of the dress I am thinking of using Butterick 4315, except for the sleeves, which I will use Simplicity 9723 for. For the split underskirt I am using McCall 2793. For the shift underneath I will use Simplicity 9691.
Fabric Ideas:
For the dress I am thinking of using this burgundy shantung, it has the color I am looking for.
For the underskirt, I am thinking of using Black silk essence.
For the shift I bought some white paisley fabric, a picture is below.
Here are some pictures of the the trim and white lace for the bodice, and the black fabric I plan to use for the black underbodice.
